This year - for the birthday - volunteers were required to do acts with literary references. This show almost didn't happen, and that story, along with my no more mnt story are best not told hear.

Anyways - the flyer is wrong, this was vol 4 (See previous post) and I do not know where this will continue, but I will get it to continue.

the photo was taken by Chris Beyond. The shoot was for a Naked Girls Reading Los ANgeles flyer.

Vol 3

again, with the not posting

In honor of the LA Opera performing their first ever Ring Cycle in May of 2010 - Chris Beyond allowed me to take over the theme for Peepshow Menagerie with this concept.

It was an entire night of Opera based burlesque. Some singing, 1 act for each Ring Opera, and several other in both the serious and comedic, and the operetta.

I will track down photos

Volume I

For my Birthday, to be celebrated at The Monday Night Tease, I challenged the dancers to come up with routines to "classical" music. It did not have to be Bach or Beethoven or the like, just something that represented or a more refined sense of music through instrumentation or structure.

I don't mean for that statement to imply a lack of knowledge, refinement, or ability in modern or popular music. I just wanted to remind our audience, and our performers, that there is a wealth of material available for use and inspiration, that is largely forgotten or ignored.

Also, with the common discussion of material being overused or old, the irony of even older music being ignored seemed ripe for exploration.

Volume one will be produced on Monday October 6th, my birthday and 4 year anniversary of performing as Scarlett Letter. Afterwords, I will post photos or clips and program notes for the show and then continue with other numbers that would have fit the bill.

Hopefully, you will find this trip as entertaining and educational as I do.
